Due to my affiliation with the Nottingham Post, the majority of my reviews are of bands who play the city’s numerous venues. These include Rock City, The Rescue Rooms, Stealth, The Bodega Social, the relatively new Glee Club, The Capital FM Arena and the Trent Uni, with rare outings at the Royal Concert Hall and the Albert Hall.
However, my horizons do sometimes broaden into Derby. New indie venue, the snappily titled, The Venue, is beginning to attract some decent names, so I hope to be there more often. The ageing Assembly Rooms is not normally somewhere I’d go to see a band. The only band I’ve reviewed there to date are the Manic Street Preachers.
Further afield, and slightly different, are the summer gigs at Sherwood Pines, a woodland clearing in the heart of Sherwood Forest, where every year, a weekend of music is showcased.
Clicking on a venue will open up a page containing a little bit of information on the establishment, plus a list of all the bands I’ve reviewed at that venue in alphabetical order.
